Communication Delivery

As tutors, you will be helping facilitate student communication regarding their courses between the MECC and Danforth campuses.

Schedule

Before each study hall session: After 11 a.m. on the day before your tutoring session, please pick up any documents to deliver to students from the Umrath 221 mailbox labeled “To deliver to MECC”

After each study hall session: Before 12:00 p.m. on the following day (or Monday for Friday tutors), please drop off any request forms, student papers, etc. that you may collect in the Umrath 221 mailbox labeled “Returned Request Forms”. Please initial and date each document or paperclip the documents together and initial and date the top one.

If you anticipate having any issues with this timeframe, please do not hesitate to let us know.  We’re incredibly grateful for all your work and happy to accommodate your needs.

Conveying Student Requests

If a student has a request or needs to relay information to a faculty/staff member, please have him fill out a request form. Blank forms should be in the computer lab cabinet. Please let me know when those are running low. When in doubt, the student should fill out a form.

Delivering Coursework

If a student provides time-sensitive coursework to you, follow the drop-off instructions detailed above. However, we would also ask that you send the professor for whose class the work is for an email letting them know that you have dropped off student work.

Do not transport sealed envelopes. The only exception would be a sealed transcript, for which you should have a special note from PEP staff.

Calling Out of a Tutoring Session

As happens, it may occur that you will not be able to make a regular tutoring session. In this situation, we ask that you please try to first find a cover at least 10 business days before your tutoring session.  Anyone who is covering for you must be a current VIC.  If you have not received the spreadsheet of contact information for current tutors, please email prisonedproject@wustl.edu

If you are not able to secure a cover

If you are not able to secure a cover at least 10 business days beforehand, please let Natasha & Meg know (prisonedproject@wustl.edu).

If you need to cancel a session, please see our late policy and cancellation guidelines

If you are able to secure a cover

If you are able to secure a cover, please send an email to Natasha, Meg, and Gregory Smith (prisonedproject@wustl.edu; Gregory.J.Smith@doc.mo.gov), cc-ing the person who is going to cover you for the session. The email should let us know that you are not able to attend this particular session and ask for this substitution to be approved.

Please let me know if there is anything further I need to do.
