Through the Prison Education Project, Missouri Department of Corrections staff members who work at either the Missouri Eastern Correctional Center (MECC) or the Women’s Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center (WERDCC) can enroll in academic courses at Washington University in St. Louis for free.

This fully funded degree program includes academic advising, and a choice of courses tailored to students’ degree goals and needs. Through this program, staff students will be able to receive an Associate in Arts or Bachelor of Science in Integrated Studies degree through Washington University’s School of Continuing & Professional Studies

Staff students are permitted to enroll in one online undergraduate courses each semester. Students with previous college experience may apply their previous credits towards their Washington University Associate in Arts or Bachelor of Science in Integrated Studies degree.

All staff students must be in compliance with Washington University’s COVID-19 vaccination policy. All Washington University students, whether studying online or in person, must show proof that they have received the COVID-19 vaccines. Students may apply for an exemption on the basis of religious or medical grounds. More information is available on the COVID-19 vaccine FAQ page.
