PEP Welcomes New Project Assistant

The Prison Education Project is excited to announce that Natasha Narayanan will be joining the PEP team as the new Project Assistant. Natasha previously worked with the Alabama Prison Arts + Education Project, where she tutored students in math and performed various administrative tasks. She received her undergraduate degrees in Biochemistry and Spanish from Auburn University and an M.Phil. in Medical Science from the University of Cambridge.

As Project Assistant, Natasha will be overseeing the day-to-day operations of the program. She will be scheduling and coordinating the courses and tutoring that take place at the MECC campus, as well as facilitating communication between the network of people, departments, and administrative bodies involved with the program.

“In acknowledging the privilege that I and many others have enjoyed in terms of access to education, I am a strong believer in the power of education and would like to contribute my effort to programs and initiatives that seek to expand educational opportunities to those who have systematically been restricted or denied access, particularly the incarcerated population.” – Natasha Narayanan
