Five PEP Students Inducted into Alpha Sigma Lambda

On May 7, 2020, five Prison Education Project (PEP) students were inducted into Alpha Sigma Lambda, a national nontraditional student honor society. Alpha Sigma Lambda was founded in 1946 by Dr. Rollin B. Posey, Dean at Northwestern University, to recognize adult students who achieve and maintain high scholastic standards while balancing other life responsibilities.

Congratulations to Jacob Bitters, Mark Frisella, Jeffrey Mueller, Terry Toll, and Benjamin Wilkinson, whose hard work, dedication, and scholastic achievements are being deservedly recognized with this tremendous honor!

Below are the criteria for admission to Alpha Sigma Lambda for Washington University students:

  1. Minimum 3.5 GPA
  2. Minimum 24 credits in residence at Washington University as an evening student
  3. Matriculated into first Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree program
  4. Minimum 12 credits of liberal arts
  5. Must be approved by the School of Continuing & Professional Studies based on entire student record
