Dr. Lauren Miller speaks at 2022 That’s What She Said event

Dr. Lauren Miller, Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Saint Louis University and longstanding Prison Education Project faculty member, spoke at the 2022 That’s What She Said event. Dr. Miller’s moving talk provides a glimpse into her work with the Prison Education Project and reflects on the power of higher education in prison.

One of PEP’s veteran faculty members, Dr. Miller has taught courses from Finite Mathematics to College Algebra at the Missouri Eastern Correctional Center, and piloted the first mathematics course at the Women’s Eastern Reception, Diagnostic, and Correctional Center in the spring of 2022. Dr. Miller’s expertise in course design and mathematics pedagogy has been crucial in PEP’s efforts to expand STEM course offerings and prepare students for careers in STEM fields. In addition to teaching for PEP, Dr. Miller is a member of the Programming Committee.
