Through the Prison Education Project, Missouri Department of Corrections staff members who work at either the Missouri Eastern Correctional Center (MECC) or the Women’s Eastern Reception, Diagnostic and Correctional Center (WERDCC) can enroll in academic courses at Washington University in St. Louis for free.

This fully funded degree program, which can be completed in as little as three years, includes books, academic advising, and a choice of courses tailored to your degree goals and needs. Through this program, staff students will be able to receive an Associate in Arts or Bachelor of Science in Integrated Studies degree through Washington University’s University College. 

Staff students are permitted to enroll in one online undergraduate courses each semester. For students with previous college experience, you may apply your previous credits towards your Washington University Associate in Arts or Bachelor of Science in Integrated Studies degree.
